Driver's Education

Students:   Drivers Ed for the 25-26 school year is now full.  If you are interested in taking Drivers Ed at CVU, please have your student request it when they meet with their school counselor during Spring Scheduling for the 26-27 school year.

If you have previously requested Drivers Ed and did NOT get the class for the 25-26 school year, you will need to request it again during Spring Scheduling. This is VERY important.

You must be able to show your permit to your teacher on the first day of class, no exceptions.

There are 3 times that students will be added to classes: Spring Scheduling, Fall Add/Drop and Winter Add/Drop.  Besides the class portion, students must have a free block to drive with the teacher.

If slots open up during the Add/Drop periods at the beginning of each semester, we will call in the oldest on the list and offer them a spot in the class. If you decide to take the class privately, please let Heather in the Direction Center know ASAP so that we can move on our waiting list.

It is important for students to pay attention to email and the announcements for communication and updates to Drivers Ed enrollment.

Parsons Driving School

Courses run every couple of months: Jan/Feb, March/April, May/June and then summer courses.
First class is in person at the Lincoln Library and all other academic work is online via Zoom class. Sign ups for driving are through Google Calendar and a spreadsheet.
I will provide the road exam whenever the student is eligible by DMV rules; one year after permit issuance, 40 hours of driving with a parent and successful completion of the class.
I also provide road exams for anyone eligible. I have a course in Bristol and generally test after school and Saturday mornings. Usually, I can provide the exam within a week of eligibility. I can also retest those who failed their first and second attempts. I have other courses in Montpelier and Randolph as well.
